As a mom, I know how difficult it is to find children’s clothing that offers an element of youth, positive affirmation and uniqueness plus be comfortable to wear. While pregnant with my first child, Raya, I worked for a company called LovethisLife. At the time, LovethisLife was creating and distributing adult clothes in-house, but growth was on the horizon. I loved my job, the concept and message I saw at work every day…LovethisLife. An especially poignant thought when one is about to give birth.
Each day of my pregnancy the significance of LovethisLife kept affecting me. My daughter was about to be born and my family was living our dream life. Nothing summed it up better than LovethisLife. Then the realization hit-- the LovethisLife message belonged on kids. Nothing was more appropriate. I sat down, sketched out some concepts and presented them. The idea was quickly embraced but given back to me to make happen.
“What? I’m not an artist,” I protested. Creativity was for someone else to accomplish. I was numbers and logic. After taking a breath, I began to realize this was my passion and my idea. Who else would give it the heart it needed? So I embraced it. When LovethisLIfe restructured and changed its business to a licensor, I bought the rights to the baby and kids’ divisions. Now after some reorganizing, the birth of my other daughter, Jamesyn, and lots of encouragement, I am thrilled to announce the vision of four years ago that is now the newest addition to my family-- Whitty’s Wears.
Being a mother first, I promise to bring that love and passion for my children and yours into this clothing line. Whitty’s Wears will manufacture pieces with a positive vibe that celebrate the child in them. We hope you enjoy not only the clothing but the message behind them. Challenge yourself and your children to LovethisLife while living their true gig.
